LEWIS & CLARK EXPEDITION 200 YEARS AGO TODAY 11/25/1804

Lewis takes interpreters Charbonneau and Jusseaume and six other men to visit the Mandan and Hidatsa villages. The weather has been pleasant and warm. A Hidatsa chief comes to Fort Mandan for the first time and Clark gives him presents to welcome him. However they can not communicate since the interpreters are with Lewis.
