Therapeutic Horticulture 101: How Plants Improve Well-being

How do you feel when you spend time in nature? In the garden? With your favorite house plant? For most plant lovers, these experiences bring some warm and fuzzy feelings.

Rachel Deffenbaugh, supervisor of the Missouri Botanical Garden's Therapeutic Horticulture team, will teach about how to use gardening, nature, and natural materials to improve and maintain your emotional and psychological well-being. By covering sensory, emotional, and physical healing - she will discuss the ins-and-outs of how plants have the ability to touch people's lives in such a positive way.
